I read through the information on your web site and was completely convinced until I got to the part about Antler Velvet.
In today's enlightened world I am surprised you promote this product. To harvest antler velvet, reindeer have to endure extreme pain. The velvet, which is richly supplied with both nerves and blood vessels, is literally scraped off the antlers, leaving them bleeding and raw. Can I suggest you re-think your policy on supplying this product? I am a veterinary surgeon in the UK and run an ethical company specialising in integrated healthcare for pets, so I was doubly alarmed to see that you suggest antler velvet contains MAOI's (mono amine oxidase inhibitors) - these are the group of anti-depressants that react badly when people eat such things as cheese. Several pharmaceuticals are also contra-indicated when taking MAOI's. Peter Culpin BSc MA VetMB MRCVS PETS Naturally UK |

Hello,
I thank you for your interest in our products. I have been assured that the deer are not injured and do not endure pain during the process of harvesting the velvet antler. I love animals and so when this formula was first brought to my attention the first thing I asked was about the welfare of the deer. I would surely not agree with any animals enduring terrible pain. At the HGH-Pro.com site, in the pages about our product I speak about the question of animal welfare and I give information about the process. Regarding your other comment, we have not added a MAO Inhibitor drug to our product, the MAOI is a natural compound of the velvet deer antler itself, and is known to enhance mood. Our product is homeopathic, it does not contain a dose of MAOI. Lisa Wells, RN HGH-Pro Last edited by admin; 02-04-2006 at 04:11 PM. |

you can look at this way:
deer losses there antlers every year naturaly. what about a vegetarian supplement . i see you have liver extract and other extract in your supplement. i do not mind because there is alot of research that support the health benifits of such extracts. are you aslo coming with a vegetarian option on the market. gr, Tom |

Dear Tom,
That is true about the deer antlers. We do not offer a vegetarian human growth hormone product at this time. We are not against having such a product, in fact I would like to offer a vegetarian HGH product. We may have such a product in the future, as the research progresses, if we get enough evidence that the formula is both safe and effective. Best Regards, Lisa |
